Flower Bouquet Drawing Art Class

Flower Bouquet Drawing with Watercolor Overlay: Join us for a fun and creative art class where young artists will design their very own flower bouquet! In this step-by-step class, kids will learn how to draw various types of flowers and create a charming brown bag bouquet. They’ll have the freedom to choose which flowers to include and where to place them in their bouquet design. Once the drawing is complete, students will outline their work with Sharpie and use watercolor paints to bring their art to life. If time allows, they can also decorate the background to add their own personal touch.

Textured Art Class

Need something fun to do with your kiddos? I am partnering with another small business to host an amazing event next month. 

In this exciting class, children (ages 6-12) will create a vibrant, textured spring masterpiece. They’ll transfer a design onto Bristol Board, trace it to make a subtle embossed effect, and add a raised, crystalized texture with a special adhesive technique. Then, using watercolor paints, they’ll watch their artwork come to life! Perfect for all skill levels, this class sparks creativity, fun, and unforgettable memories. Koi Fish Painting Art Class

Dive into the vibrant world of acrylic painting with this fun, beginner-friendly class! You’ll start by learning how to mix your own custom colors using a palette knife, followed by a step-by-step demonstration on creating a fluid, abstract water background. Once your water scene is complete, you’ll bring it to life by painting two koi fish. Get creative with your colors, and if you’re feeling confident, add your own unique details to the fish or even extra elements to your water scene. This class is the perfect introduction to color mixing, color theory, and exploring different techniques with acrylic paint on canvas.

In this hands-on class, kids will learn how to create a charming strawberry-shaped trinket dish using air dry clay—no firing or baking required! I’ll guide them through every step of the process, from prepping the clay to molding the perfect strawberry shape with their hands. They’ll also learn to add details like a lip or ledge to the dish and a stem for the strawberry. Along the way, students will be introduced to important clay techniques such as scoring and slipping, hatching/cross hatching, and smoothing out their creations. Once complete, they’ll have the chance to paint a foundation layer of color to personalize their project. All materials are provided, and kids will leave with a delightful trinket dish ready to take home!

This engaging class is designed for ages 8 and up, allowing young artists to explore their creativity. The class will take place at the Dorothy Henry Branch, located at Route 94, Vernon, NJ 0746. It will also be offered at another Sussex library location on the same day, so make sure to register for the time and place that suits you best. Don't miss out on the fun and artistic expression this summer!

In this hands-on program, kids will learn to make their own scratchboards and use them to create vibrant scratch art masterpieces. The session begins with a simple trick to craft a clean border for their artwork, followed by an exploration of oil pastels to design a colorful underlayer. Once their base is complete, participants will apply a specially made topcoat mixture, drying each layer with a blow dryer to transform their piece into a scratchable surface. With their scratchboards ready, kids will learn and practice unique drawing techniques to reveal the bright, hidden colors beneath. This engaging workshop combines creativity and discovery, inspiring kids to truly “color their world” through art. All materials are provided, and the program is perfect for ages 8 and up.

Get ready to color your world with an explosion of paint! In this vibrant and hands-on class, students will explore the exciting world of fluid acrylic painting. They’ll learn a variety of pouring techniques, discovering how each method creates unique and mesmerizing effects on their canvas.

Students can choose to create a full abstract fluid painting or take a more structured approach by sketching a design first using pencil, Sharpies, and paint markers. Once their design is in place, they’ll incorporate fluid painting techniques to add dynamic movement and depth to their artwork.

This class is all about creativity, color, and fun—so be prepared to get messy! Since fluid paintings take time to dry, students should plan for careful transport of their wet artwork home.
